BTB - Congestion Surcharge: Update delays in Rotterdam and Antwerp
14 September 2017
Dear customer, On the 20th of July Barge Terminal Born introduced a Congestion Surcharge of 15,- per full container. This was necessary because the congestion in the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp leads to extended dwelltimes of our barges at the deepseaterminals. This results in a lot of extra costs.
Momentarily the waiting times at some specific deepseaterminals has improved, but this is relative (from 6 or 7 days to 2 or 3 days).
The overall Congestion for barges at the deepseaterminals persists and therefore we continue the Congestion Surcharge as mentioned above.
If you click this link, you will find in more detail an explanation and understanding of the problems we face.
With kind regards,
Barge Terminal Born, Norman Verstoep, Managing Director
